I had read that 5407 had been painted in a sort of fake Furness Railway red for a while at Carnforth in the early days of preservation, but this is the first photograph of this I've seen. So far as I know this is the only time a Black 5 has been painted red, although for quite a while Hornby did their old Black 5 model in LMS red. Photo by Michael Morant
